About Blossom Care Group
How We Do This

At Blossom Care, we understand that due to unfortunate life events our children and young people may display negative and challenging behaviour. Our staff are trained in risk and behaviour management ensuring that every possible solution for de-escalation has occurred and physical intervention is only used as a last resort.

The staff team will:

  • Have an empathetic approach
  • Will be patient and non-forceful (allowing the child or young person to initiate the relationship)
  • Individualise the care given
  • Targeting outcomes
  • Assigning a key-worker based upon personality matches
  • Provide primary care
  • Include the children and young people in all aspects of their care where appropriate
  • Risk assessing and management
  • Regular training and development for staff team

The Structure:

THE TeaM

We are committed to providing the highest level of care and believe that the team is the core to achieving this. We provide regular training, appraisals and supervision. Time and commitment are given to the development and progression of every individual working as part of the Blossom Care team. As we are opening new homes internal progression will be a great opportunity for the staff to develop there careers in the care sector. We ensure that the team feels valued and individuals are rewarded and recognised for their hard work and dedication to the children and young people in our care, this is done through incentives such as pay increments, celebrations of significant events such as birthdays and team building activities.

Growing Our Own

Blossom Care Group believes that investment in its staff is key to its providing 1st class services to the young persons we have a duty of care too.

We have 2 training providers that deliver relevant residential childcare NVQ’s to our staff. Many of our staff have progressed from RSW to Team Leaders, Team Leaders to Deputy Managers and Deputy Managers to Registered/Home Managers. As we are expanding we have also had Registered Manager Progressing to be a service manager for Blossom Care Group. We want our staff to progress in their professions and where a new employee is engaged without a relevant NVQ, we enrol the employee on to a Level 4 Residential Childcare NVQ within a couple of weeks after employment starts.

Where the employee already has a residential childcare qualification, we support the employee with the training to the next level NVQ, for example: If the employee holds a Level 3, we enrol them to complete a relevant level 4 NVQ, where the employee holds a level 4 NVQ, we enrol them to complete a level 5 Residential Childcare Leadership & Management NVQ. Along with the education development for employees, there are regular mentoring sessions, 121 advice & guidance, supervisions and personal development plans.

We want our staff to develop professional practice to the highest level.

We call this ‘Growing Our Own’.
